Burg Stahleck - Rhineland

Judendherberge (Youth Hostel) near Bacharach, Germany.

Burg Stahleck, meaning impegnable castle, stands on a crag 160 metres above sea level near Bacharach in the Rhine Valley. Originally built in the 12th century it was destroyed in the late 17th century and rebuilt in the 20th century. It is now used as a Judendherberge (Youth Hostel).
